Situated in the centre of Milan inside an elegant period building, the apartment weds typological elements of the building in a modern and minimalist style. The entire renovation project was based on respect for the existing building, revisiting it in a contemporary key. The element shaping the reading of the space is the arch, a historical touch, rewritten in a contemporary key so as to become the point of cohesion between the living area and the sleeping area, with the use of window and door frames in iron and glass that enable the space to be interpreted flexibly.
The concept underlying the living area rested on the flexibility of the space, which can be separated thanks to large, purposely designed, made-to-measure glass panels. The fulcrum of the apartment is the corridor leading to all the rooms, with purposely designed and made-to-measure wainscoting and alcove wall lights coordinated with a ceiling lamp to produce an ever-changing scenography. It is completed by the bedroom and bathroom doors.
Each room is designed down to the smallest detail so as to create a comfortable environment tailor-made for the client. The wooden floors provide warmth and cosiness while the walls painted light blue add character to the space and create a vibrant play of light depending on the time of day.
